Golden League 2003-2005 Venues to be Decided at End of Season

Following a meeting this morning in Oslo, the IAAF Golden League Working Group agreed to recommend to IAAF Council that the Golden League for 2003-2005 should be made up of six meetings.

The next meeting of Council is in Paris next Wednesday and Thursday (3-4 July.)

Eight candidates have expressed an interest in being part of the Golden League for this period - the six incumbent members Berlin, Brussels, Oslo, Paris, Rome and Zurich - as well as London and Stockholm.

The Working Group will also recommend to Council that the decision about which six will be selected should be taken at the end of the season, during the IAAF Grand Prix Final in Paris on 14 September. This will permit a final “Quality Control” review of each meeting during the 2002 season, before a commitment is made for the next three year period.
