The Annual Marathon Report of the Road Running Information Center (USA)

Marathon Growth Continues in the U.S. and Worldwide

2005-07-19

In September 2004 we presented “The State of the Sport – July 2004”  (http://www.scc-events.com/news/news002386.en.html) – taken from the USATF Road Running Information Center – a subdivision of the US Track & Field Federation.

No similar study in Germany

Unfortunately, the German Track and Field Association–which still has not understood the value of the sport of running — has not yet conducted a similar study in Germany on the development of running with an analysis for the future.

With permission from the USATF, we are publishing this article, which certainly has pertinence for Germany and other countries.  Everyone can learn from it and apply the knowledge gained for their own organisation.

We will soon be presenting further articles from the USA. We would herewith like to express our sincere thanks for permission for publication.
