Kidane set to challenge for Bupa Great North Run title
Worknesh Kidane is aiming to prove her pedigree as a half marathon runner challenging for for BUPA Great North Run title in this year's race on Sunday. Kidane another of the outstanding flock of Ethiopian athletes currently dominating world distance running, has confirmed her entry for the World's biggest race over the distance.
Kidane this year's World Cross Country long course silver medallist and third finisher in the short 4K race, only ran her first half marathon nine days ago. But the 23-year-old African star will fear no one when she steps onto the Newcastle starting line this weekend - including Catherine Ndereba the current Olympic and World marathon silver medallist.
