Countdown: 19 days to go - go Henry, go Paula - the bib numbers
In order to allow the spectators to cheer the runners on at the marathon course, every runner and skater wears a personalized bib number. On that bib number is not only the start number but also the name of the participant itself. But how does it work? With the online registration for the BMW BERLIN MARATHON your collected data is stored on a digital database. From now on everything about your start at the BMW BERLIN MARATHON is working through a special computer program. In August, shortly before the registration confirmation will be sent out, our participant management allocates to each participant a personal start number through this system.
These records with personalized bibs are being used during the BERLIN VITAL Fall at the race number distribution. Once you pick up your bib number, the system will print on a plain bib number your start number and name. This way we can save not only human resources and money, but also contribute to a cleaner environment by using less ink than before as not everybody will be able to race and pick up their bib number.
