The number one on the list of the year’s world best times will be running

at the 24th Bewag BERLIN HALF MARATHON on April 4: The Kenyan Paul Kirui has

confirmed his participation. The 24-year-old won the Bewag BERLIN HALF MARATHON

last year in a fantastic time of 61:05 minutes, despite the cool weather. This

year, Paul Kirui has already won the half marathon in Ostia (Rome) and improved

his time to the world-class time of 60:22 minutes, which puts him at the top of

the year’s world best times for the 21.0975 km distance.

Last year’s women’s champion will also be at the start of the

Bewag BERLIN HALF MARATHON: last year, Magdaline Chemjor (Kenya) ran a time of

71:12 minutes and has since improved her time to 69:39. “We are happy to

have both of last year’s champions at the start, and hope to have another

first-class time from Paul Kirui, especially. If we have good weather, it could

be possible for him to beat his personal best,” said Race Director Mark

Milde.
