Record Registration for the 32. real.- BERLIN-MARATHON: 4,000 additional race numbers

Due to the unbelievable demand for race numbers for the real,- BERLIN MARATHON,  the organisers from SCC RUNNING have had to consider accepting an additional 4,000 runners for the running spectacle on September 25th.  Already this week—earlier than ever before—the original limit for participants (36,000) has been reached. Thus, all race numbers would have already been sold out.

Mark Milde: We expect the extra 4,000 starting spots to go quickly, too.“

“As always, the interest is enormous. In order to avoid having to disappoint so many runners, we have decided to accept 40,000 athletes for the first time. The wide Berlin streets will allow for such a record number of participants,” explained race director Mark Milde, adding: “Whoever would still like to run should nonetheless submit their registration quickly. We expect the extra 4,000 starting spots to go quickly, too.“

With an anticipated 40,000 runners, the real,- BERLIN MARATHON would break its record number of participants. At the 30th anniversary of the race, there were 38,493 runners registered. When all of the inline skaters, walkers, and wheelchair athletes are also included, there was a total of 48,424 athletes.

There are currently 4,394 inline skaters registered. The limit lies at 12,000. For the third time in a row, the skaters will start in their own race on Saturday, September 24. As last year, the starting shot will be fired for the skaters in the afternoon at 4:30 p.m.
