Der Singende Tresen Soul-Funk

DER SINGENDE TRESEN was founded in 2001 by the singer and poet Manja Präkels, and for the following two years it was the house band for the infamous Club Existentialiste. The band has been touring Germany since 2004. The band’s recordings have been named the CD of the month two times, and it has topped the charts of German-language music.

They were on the course of the BERLIN MARATHON for the first time in 2003.

Most of the band members live in the “Wins” neighbourhood in the Berlin district of Prenzlauer Berg, where they often perform at \"Blauen Licht\". They have performed almost everywhere in Berlin: from Kaffee Burger to the Roter Salon and Grüner Salon to Supamolly, from Kato to Bar jeder Vernunft. They are often on tour from the seas at the north down to the foot of the Alps.

Manja Präkels: “It is great to have real fans among the runners, who start clapping from far away, who have signed up for our newsletter and whom we meet somewhere along our tour in southern Germany. Last year a small neighbourhood festival developed at our venue, which led to the local management building us a stage on the street.”
