BMW BERLIN-MARATHON Inlineskating

The participation fee depends on availability and the current contingent. So it pays to be quick here too!

The BMW BERLIN-MARATHON Inlineskating is organized according to the regulations of the German Roller Sports and Inline Federation (DRIV).

• all inline skater year 2008 and older are allowed to participate
• only inline skates (wheel size max. 125 mm) and quads are permitted

Skaters receive their race number in duplicate. Both numbers have to be attached upright on the outside of the thighs and must be worn during the race.

There is a transponder for timekeeping on the back of each number. These must not be bent or damaged in any other way.

• The starting blocks are organised by your best time as stated in the registration.
• If this is your first marathon race, you will start in the last block (Block F).
• All participants deserve a fair race, so please be honest during the registration process and enter the correct block on race day!

The cut-off point is at 3:10 p.m. at the Victory Column. Until 3:10 p.m., skaters have their last chance to take the circuit lap towards Ernst-Reuter-Platz and reach the finish line within the time limit. All skaters who arrive at the Victory Column after 3:10 p.m. will be diverted toward the finish line, regardless of the number of laps they have completed up to that point. This means that skaters who are too slow can cross the Brandenburg Gate and the finish line, but will not appear in the rankings because they have not skated the full marathon distance.

Finishers who register for the BMW BERLIN MARATHON Inline Skating 2025 with the Skate to Run promotion this year will receive a guaranteed runner's starting place for the BMW BERLIN MARATHON 2026.

Discount for all marathon newbies:

The BMW BERLIN MARATHON Inline Skating is even more fun when you do it together. That's why the motto is: Marathon newbies (first-time participants) pay only half the price if they are referred by a full-paying participant (who must already be registered for the BMW BERLIN MARATHON Inline Skating).

1. The referrer registers for the marathon as usual.
2. Newcomer: Send an email to neuling@scc-events.com and let us know the name of the referrer who is already registered. We will then send you a code for the discounted registration.

Wearing a helmet is required. It is not possible to start the race without a helmet. Further protective equipment is recommended. 

• You will receive a transparent clothing bag and a sticker with your race number when you pick up your race material. Please apply the sticker to your bag.
• Clothing and valuables to be taken to the event site must be in the clothing bag.
• The items must be loose in the bag: You may not put a backpack or sports bag in it. One additional bag for your skates is permitted.
• Luggage is prohibited on the event site!
• You hand in your clothing bag at the designated truck at the start area and can pick it up from the truck after the finish.

• keep on the right and let faster skaters pass on the left (as in road traffic)
• do not skate in groups, but in slipstream to leave room for passing
• announce overtaking by shouting
• avoid cutting curves
• look over your shoulder before changing lanes

Hand signals

• both arms pointing to left or right = left or right turn
• moving both arms sideways up & down = let them roll - pay special attention!
• both arms up = Attention! Slow down! Brake if necessary!
• one hand pointing down = pothole/ road gully or similar
• arm pointing to the side = participant wants to leave or join group

There are changing rooms in the start/finish area. Showers are not available.

After the finish there is a comprehensive free massage service for all participants. It works on a first come first serve basis.

You can find your result in the results list under Your race > Results. You can also download your certificate there.

Skaters are rated by the brutto time in the categories "Speed" and "Fitness" (timing from the starting signal to the finish). For "Fitness" the net time will be shown additionally in the result list.

Age group winner

According to the WKO/DRIV, age group winners for inline skaters will only be ranked in the “Fitness” category and on the basis of brutto time.

The free race entry can only be claimed in the following year. We will send the winners all registration information and an access code automatically by e-mail.
