Neighborhood running tracks

Training tracks in the neighbourhood presented by GENERALI

The excitement is rising. On Sunday, 26 September, SCC EVENTS will once again send over 44,000 runners onto the fastest marathon course in the world. We describe four neighbourhood training laps presented by GENERALI, all of which are located directly on the original course of the BMW BERLIN MARATHON. Whether idyllically along the Spree from Charlottenburg Palace Park to the government district or through Wilmersdorf People's Park in the southern part of the marathon course. Here you can run down the last warm-up kilometres before or shake the aching muscles out of your legs afterwards. Have fun trying it out.

Course A

Sightseeing along the River Spree (West)

Start

Bundeskanzleramt (Federal Chancellery) / Tipi-Tent

Highlights

Bundeskanzleramt, Haus der Kulturen der Welt (Schwangere Auster / Pregnant Oyster), Schloss Bellevue (Bellevue Castle), Schloss Charlottenburg (Charlottenburg Castle)

The varied 6 km long course along the Spree goes westward to one of the most scenic recreation areas of Berlin. In this unique idyll with most impressing views at the Charlottenburg castle, the near river and many little niches you can run an extra 3 km lap. After that you return to your starting point running back on the embankment of the Spree. The end of your City West Tour is in the start-finish area of the BMW BERLIN-MARATHON where you can have a cool drink and get in the right mood for the big day.

Course B

Jogging in the heart of Berlin

Start

Platz des 18. März opposite Brandenburg Gate

Highlights

Brandenburg Gate, Reichstag, Victory Column, Zoological Garden

Tiergarten is Berlins biggest park. That’s why it never gets too packed even in the summer season. You find an interesting mix of jogging tourists and locals, soccer and Frisbee players or people enjoying a walk. After working out you can relax and have a drink in the “Café am Neuen See” or in the English Garden. Small stretches of the 5- or 7km lap lead through the start/finish area of the BMW BERLIN-MARATHON. If there are closures already you find back to the course shown on the map after a short detour.
