Marathon world record in Berlin
Eliud Kipchoge crowned the 48th edition of the BMW BERLIN-MARATHON with an incredible world record of 2:01:09 hours. The 37-year-old Kenyan thus improved his own best time by exactly half a minute - madness!
Tigist Assefa ran a sensational course record. Starting as an outsider with a personal best of 2:34:01 before, the Ethiopian ran the race of her life in excellent weather conditions and won in 2:15:37 hours.

We mourn the loss of Christoph Kopp
Christoph Kopp, one of the co-founders of the BERLIN-MARATHON and a long-time member of SC Charlottenburg, passed away on Friday (April, 28 2023) after a short serious illness. He was 75 years old.

GENERALI BERLIN HALF MARATHON: Eilish McColgan smashes British record, Sabastian Sawe wins
Smashing the British record Eilish McColgan took the GENERALI BERLIN HALF MARATHON with 65:43. The 32 year-old Scot improved her own national record time of 66:26 by 43 seconds and established a European lead. The fastest runner on the start list was the winner at Brandenburg Gate: Sabastian Sawe finished in a strong 59:00 while fellow-Kenyan and defending champion Alex Kibet was second with 59:11.

Record races at BMW BERLIN-MARATHON 2022
Eliud Kipchoge crowned the 48th edition of the BMW BERLIN MARATHON with a world record of 2:01:09 hours. The 37-year-old Kenyan thus improved his own best time, which he had run in Berlin 2018, by exactly half a minute. Eliud Kipchoge was at times even on course for a dream time of under 2:00:00 hours, but was unable to maintain this fabulous pace.

Eighths victory and spectacular course record for Bart Swings at the BMW BERLIN-MARATHON Inlineskating
After only 56:45 minutes the Belgian Bart Swings crossed the finish line and set a new course record. At the same time, the Powerslide athlete secured his eighth victory at the BMW BERLIN-MARATHON Inlineskating. The winner of the women's race was Marie Depuy. The Frenchwoman - also Team Powerslide - needed 1:11:19 hours. A total of 4,153 registered skaters provided a great demonstration of inline sports on the streets of the capital.
