The Jubilee Club at the EXPO

On September 18, 2025, Messe Berlin opened its impressive doors to participants of the BMW BERLIN-MARATHON and visitors to the MARATHON EXPO.

For our Jubilees, the warm-up for the upcoming major events began, as always, in the exclusive Jubilee Club Lounge.

Our department heads and volunteers welcomed the sports-enthusiastic Jubilee community there: collecting personal race numbers, coffee and cake, well-chilled Erdinger non-alcoholic beer, as well as many questions and conversations quickly transformed the previously empty halls of Messe Berlin into a lively, colorful gathering. Jubilee merchandise was once again very popular. Well—except for the cozy warm hoodies, as temperatures outside were well above 20°C under bright sunshine.

New Jubilee Club members at the BMW BERLIN-MARATHON 2025 weekend

Saturday

9 men in the inline skating discipline

Saturday, September 20th: First official & public goosebump moments.

Thomas, our head of department fort he Jubilee Club Inline Skating invited his guests to the VIP tent.

All skaters who managed to cross the finish line for the 10th time that day were welcomed to the Jubilee Club. Every person in the tent could feel how much Thomas loves this role—and how wholeheartedly he supports the inline skaters!

Sunday

27 women and 128 men competed in the running discipline.

On Sunday, we turned on our spot lights for a guest as popular as it gets at the BMW BERLIN-MARATHON. While the first Jubilee runners were crossing the finish line, Horst Milde, the founder of the BERLIN-MARATHON, honored all the Jubilees with his presence. As a prelude to the upcoming recognition ceremony for the new Jubilees in the RUNNING category, he took the time to answer many questions in front of the audience.

Our next interview partners could not stop smiling: Irina Mikitenko, a former German long-distance runner, along with former department heads Heinz and Regina Sowinski. Heinz and Regina dedicated two decades of voluntary service to the Jubilee Club.

Meanwhile, the audience grew more and more. As well as our excitement! And we are deeply grateful—for the support of department heads Martin and Simone and their volunteer team. You are all fantastic hosts!

By the way, the Erdinger non-alcoholic beer tasted especially good with this summer temperatures.

And then it was time to turn the spotlights back on again: Our „Newbies“!

Each of the invited athletes enjoyed their personal moment in the spotlight, being celebrated. All of them were accompanied by thunderous applause: Finishing the BMW BERLIN-MARATHON ten times… what an outstanding achievement!

And to capture these moments, our photographer was there once again.
And honestly—how photogenic you all were this year!

While reviewing the photos later at the office, we were greeted by so many happy, smiling faces. Simply wonderful!

Among all the (new) Jubilees, there were also two other newcomers during these days: Ines & Marc (aka Goldi). You will meet both of them again at the MARATHON EXPO in 2026.

But before you will all meet our new collegues next year, we would like to say THANK YOU.

Thank you to everyone who was there!

And a very special thank you goes to Anja, who has supported the Jubilee Club for many years and enriched it with new ideas and dedictation!

And a very special, heartfelt thank you to Martin and Simone for your many years of commitment to the Jubilee Club!

And to round things off, everyone gathers for the “famous” group photo.
