The most successful female Swiss wheelchair athlete has already crossed the finish line four times in Berlin. Last year's winner, the Canadian Brent Lakatos (1:29:41 hours), and the second placed Marcel Hug (SUI) will come back to Berlin.

In addition, the battle for victory could be a thrilling one that may well last until the final few kilometres,” said the race director Mark Milde, who is still recruiting more top performers.
A top-class duel is in prospect in the BMW BERLIN-MARATHON when Germany’s biggest marathon takes place on September 29 with the news that Gladys Cherono, both title and course record holder, will face her fellow Kenyan Vivian Cheruiyot.
“My goal is now to win for the fourth time in Berlin,” announced Gladys Cherono soon after she had completed the hat-trick last year.
