VIRTUAL GENERALI BERLIN HALF MARATHON as a spring kick-off for SCC EVENTS

From April 9 to 11, 2021, runners, inline skaters, wheelchair athletes and hand cyclists are invited to participate in the VIRTUAL GENERALI BERLIN HALF MARATHON. This extra event is a completely independent event. It will function as a spring start as well as a bridging event until the real GENERALI BERLIN HALF MARATHON, which is scheduled for August 22, 2021.

Events for all ages

At the VIRTUAL GENERALI BERLIN HALF MARATHON, there will be a 10k option in addition to the 21.0975-kilometer event that gives the race its name. With the shorter distance, SCC EVENTS is deliberately catering to runners who may have only found their enjoyment of endurance sports during the current pandemic and now want to face their first challenges. No matter which distance is chosen, it must be completed in one piece (of course short breaks are allowed). If desired, the result can be uploaded to the corresponding website via a wearable device that is to be carried on the course, with an official ranking to follow after additional registration. The organiser also is meeting the current increased need to exercise for the whole family with a special Kids-Family offer.

Starter package with charity

You can participate for a fee of 7 euros. In addition, national interested parties and EU citizens can book a limited premium package with an exclusive medal and other surprises include is a charity contribution to The Human Safety Net. The Human Safety Net is a worldwide community initiative of the international Generali Group, in which people help people with the aim of developing the potential of those living in difficult conditions. The charity campaign aims to send a clear signal for social cooperation during these challenging times.

From Berlin to the World #virtualberlinhalf

The VIRTUAL GENERALI BERLIN HALF MARATHON acts under the motto “From Berlin to the World” as well as the SCC EVENTS claim that “You are not alone.” Accompanying social media measures will make the VIRTUAL GENERALI BERLIN HALF MARATHON an act of global togetherness for the sports scene over the course of the event weekend. Participants from Berlin will post the typical sights of the capital during their runs. In return, all other national and international starters are called upon to photograph highlights from their races and post them online using the #virtualberlinhalf.
